About The Position

The Value Forward Deployed Engineer identifies high-value insurance processes to improve, turns discovery into a prioritized, buildable backlog, redesigns processes around AI, and ensures measurable value is delivered through customer adoption. The role works directly with process owners and front-line users, partnering one-to-one with an AI-FDE and collaborating with customer process owners, who co-own adoption. It holds scope to measurable business outcomes through MVE build, validation, and production, and presents results and priorities to audiences ranging from front-line teams to executive sponsors. The role also feeds recurring patterns into the catalogue and R&D. Success is judged by backlog quality and value, measurable production outcomes and customer adoption, speed from idea to buildable use case, and value delivered per account and expansion.

Requirements

• 8+ years in P&C or L&A insurance operations or consulting.
• Experience with process redesign and business cases.
• Domain expertise and the ability to challenge existing approaches.
• Executive presence with COOs, CUOs, and front-line users.
• Working data fluency in SQL, Python, or advanced Excel.
• Low ego and high tolerance for ambiguity.
• A record of process redesign that delivered a measurable result in cost, speed, loss ratio, or customer experience.
• Curiosity about AI; either experience leading automation or AI work, or readiness to learn quickly within a pod.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with core insurance systems or Sapiens implementations is desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Run continuous direct discovery with process owners and front-line users.
• Identify broken processes and articulate value hypotheses in terms recognized by a P&L owner.
• Convert discovery into a live, prioritized backlog that the AI-FDE can build against.
• Own process redesign and adoption, ensuring customer people use the new process.
• Keep scope focused on measurable business outcomes through MVE build, validation, and production.
• Present results and next priorities to front-line teams and executive sponsors.
• Feed patterns to the catalogue and R&D.
• Partner one-to-one with the AI-FDE; customer process owners co-own adoption.
