About The Position
The AI Forward Deployed Engineer is the technical half of a Value FDE and AI-FDE pair. The role turns ambiguous customer problems into production AI capabilities quickly, building alongside the people who operate the process rather than handing requirements off. The engineer owns delivery end to end, from modeling real data and processes and designing agentic workflows through integration, evaluation, and release. The role also works with the Value FDE, reuses SapiensAIP and existing agent capabilities, and contributes proven field patterns to the catalogue and R&D. The position may require travel to client sites. Success is judged by time to a working capability and production value; quality, safety, observability, and reliability; customer adoption and independence; reuse of field learnings; and the strength of the pair partnership. Before production, capabilities must meet the Minimum Viable Autonomy bar for evaluation, observability, escalation, and controls.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript.
- Experience with APIs and cloud.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or agentic workflows in production, including retrieval, evaluation, and tool use.
- Customer judgment and ability to work as an engineer-diplomat.
- Willingness to travel to client sites.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with insurance systems such as policy administration, claims, or billing, or with Sapiens platforms.
- Experience in data engineering, MLOps, or security in regulated industries.
Responsibilities
- Ship a working capability against the live backlog in the first week where feasible, then iterate.
- Own the build end to end: model real data and processes, design agentic workflows, integrate, evaluate, and release.
- Build close to the people who operate the process, without a requirements hand-off.
- Ensure capabilities meet the Minimum Viable Autonomy bar, including evaluation, observability, escalation, and controls, before production.
- Reuse and compose existing AIP and agent capabilities; contribute proven patterns to the catalogue and R&D.
- Leave the customer able to run, monitor, and adjust what has been built.
- Partner one-to-one with the Value FDE.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
