About The Position
The Value Based Operations Intern will support the administration and analysis of value-based healthcare programs. This role provides hands-on experience with alternative reimbursement, payment and billing methodologies, healthcare operations, data analysis, reporting, and process improvement. Working alongside Value Based Operations analysts and business partners, the intern will assist with program performance monitoring, payment and billing reconciliation, reporting, and operational projects that help improve value-based care programs and support business decisions.
Requirements
- Senior level undergraduate, recent graduate or graduate level student in statistics, accounting, finance, math, business administration, healthcare administration, computer science or related field.
- Cumulative GPA: minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel).
- Basic working knowledge of SQL.
- Effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to think analytically and present ideas professionally.
- Self-motivated, adaptable to a changing work environment, and team-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Undergraduates and Graduate Level students must be able to work 20 hours/week during the Spring/Fall semesters and 30-35 hours/week during the summer.
Nice To Haves
- Residency in or relocation to Louisiana is preferred.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Cumulative GPA: 3.5+ GPA preferred.
- Preferred experience working with databases (MySQL, SQLServer, Teradata, etc.).
- Preferred experience working with data visualization software (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
