About The Position

The Value Added Service Laborer helps maintain cleanliness and food safety at customer food, beverage, and meat processing plants. The role involves cleaning floors, equipment, and designated areas to meet customer quality-control and bacterial standards and applicable governmental requirements. Work takes place in wet, hot, and/or cold conditions while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). The shift is listed as day shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., though the posting notes that shifts may vary by location.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Wear employer-specified PPE, such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, and safety glasses.
Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for own actions.
Safety awareness and attention to detail.
Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

Attend safety meetings at the beginning of the shift.
Put on required safety gear and contact a supervisor to inspect it.
Obtain cleaning-area assignments from a supervisor.
Retrieve cleaning supplies and a cart from storage.
Squeegee meat scraps, scoop them into barrels, weigh the barrels, and dump their contents into the inedible vat or auger.
Mix cleaning solution in a bucket or hosing equipment.
Mop office and welfare-area floors.
Connect hoses to a water source and turn on the water.
Spray equipment, floors, and pen areas to remove debris.
Scrub equipment with a green pad and cleaning solution.
Rinse equipment after scrubbing.
Ensure the area, including the ceiling, is dry before production.
Inspect the area to verify it is clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
