About The Position

The Value Added Service Laborer is responsible for cleaning floors and equipment in customer food, beverage, and meat processing plants. The role ensures work areas meet customer quality-control and bacterial standards, as well as applicable governmental requirements. Duties include scraping, sweeping, and mopping floors; removing meat scraps; preparing and using cleaning solutions; and rinsing and inspecting equipment and work areas. The role requires wearing employer-specified personal protective equipment and working in wet, hot, or cold environments. The position is onsite in Vicksburg, Mississippi, with a stated shift of 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment, such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, and safety glasses.
Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for one's own actions.
Safety awareness and attention to detail.
Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

Attend safety meetings at the beginning of the shift.
Put on required safety gear before beginning duties and contact the supervisor to inspect it.
Obtain cleaning-area assignments from the supervisor.
Retrieve cleaning supplies and a cart from the storage room.
Squeegee meat scraps, scoop them into barrels, weigh the barrels, and dispose of their contents in the inedible vat or auger.
Mix cleaning solution in a bucket or hosing equipment.
Mop floors in office and welfare areas.
Connect hoses to a water source and turn on the water.
Spray equipment, floors, and pen areas to remove debris.
Scrub equipment with a green pad and cleaning solution, then spray it for a final rinse.
Ensure the area, including the ceiling, is dry before production.
Inspect the area to verify it is clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
