About The Position

Armor is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting at Lackawanna County Jail in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The position works from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays. The nurse supports health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals, carries out clinical procedures and practitioner orders, and documents patient care. Requirements

Current, active state LPN license.
Current CPR certificate.
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
Obtain patient health histories, laboratory specimens, and vital signs; administer TB skin tests.
Conduct laboratory tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
Review patient charts and record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
Coordinate transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers.
Administer medications and implement health care practitioners’ orders.
Document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
