About The Position

This is a "hands on" Leadership production operation role. The Value Added North Foreperson, under the supervision of the Operation Manager, assists with overseeing the leadership and management of processes and associates to meet customer, department, and organization needs. This role ensures all equipment is in proper working condition and that the line starts on time. Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing and training new associates, conducting meetings on changes and job-related issues, and ensuring associates follow USDA, OSHA, and MIOSHA rules, policies, and procedures. The Foreperson also teaches associates the importance of working safely and in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to implement all rules and procedures established by the HACCP program and work closely with U.S.D.A.

  • Ability to wear necessary Personal Protective Wear (Protective Eye Wear, Ear plugs, Hard Hat, Hair Net, Protective Coat, Forearm protection, Plastic gloves, Cotton gloves, Plastic aprons)
  • Ability to physically perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to demonstrate job functions in the white meat area.
  • Ability to obtain a Hi-lo driver license.
  • Ability to use knives (wizard and reg.) on the line.
  • Ability to twist, bend, reach, and stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet cold environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
