About The Position

The Valet (Guest Service Associate) provides attentive, friendly, and efficient hospitality services to guests. The role includes parking and retrieving guest vehicles safely and promptly, assisting with luggage and bell services as needed, and helping guests with directions, transportation, reservations, facility amenities, and local attractions. The associate explains parking rates and vehicle retrieval procedures, maintains accurate vehicle and ticket records, and collects parking revenue when needed. Work is primarily outdoors, potentially for the entire shift, and involves exposure to extreme heat and cold. Travel of up to 5% may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license for the state of application, or within a commutable distance from that state, as applicable.
One month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Ability to read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; and write simple correspondence.
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to guests, clients, and coworkers.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic with three-digit numbers and to use American currency; understand 24-hour and military time systems and rates applicable to elapsed time.
Ability to perform parallel parking.
Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including extended periods of sitting or standing, mobility and bending activities, and lifting or exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests, coworkers, and clients; acknowledge and greet guests within five feet and use guest last names during interactions.
Welcome guests using the salutation of the day, follow Towne Park phone etiquette, and remain in designated areas when not completing tasks.
Park and retrieve vehicles slowly and cautiously; assist with bell services and luggage storage as needed; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about facility outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions.
Deliver messages, items, and guest amenities as requested, and shuttle guests to approved locations.
Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival.
Issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys.
Complete and maintain vehicle ticket information, including key tags, guest folios, vehicle locations, damage surveys, and claim-check receipts; complete vehicle locations on key tags after parking.
Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.
