About The Position
The Service Valet/Porter is the initial point of contact for customers arriving at the dealership for service. The role greets customers, gathers vehicle information, and helps check them in for appointments. The valet also moves customer vehicles from the service drive to the shop and supports service advisors and dealership personnel in maintaining an organized, fully functioning dealership. This position requires working outdoors and being on your feet for extended periods. The stated compensation is $20–$25 per hour. Final pay depends on factors such as relevant experience and education.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
- Be able to work outdoors and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information at the vehicle when possible.
- Assist the Service Advisor with customers while maintaining organization in the service drive.
- Move customers’ vehicles safely and securely after greeting them, following the process outlined by management.
- Retain keys according to departmental safeguard procedures.
- Promote effective working relationships with dealership associates and departments.
- Follow dealership-specific procedures for active vehicle delivery to encourage return visits and customer satisfaction.
- Assist fellow dealership personnel with work needed to ensure the dealership functions fully.
