Valet Parking Attendant Full or Part Time Days
About The Position
Valet Park of America is hiring full-time or part-time Valet Attendants in Danbury, Connecticut. The position greets and assists customers, parks their vehicles, and represents the establishment where services are provided. After parking each vehicle, attendants return to their station to assist the next patron. The work is outdoors for the duration of the shift, and employees are expected to work scheduled shifts in hot, cold, and wet weather. Most shifts are Monday through Friday within operating hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; availability for weekends and holidays is required when necessary. The listed base pay is $16.69 per hour, with attendants able to earn an additional $3–$5 per hour or more in tips, for potential starting earnings of $20–$22 or more per hour. Employees train for four shifts at a higher pay rate but do not receive tips during training. All employees begin with a 30-day trial period and must undergo a criminal records check.
Requirements
- Be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle to management’s satisfaction; training may be available for qualified candidates in some situations.
- Have personal transportation and driving experience.
- Have customer service experience.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Hold a valid Class D driver’s license for at least one year before applying and maintain it in good standing throughout employment.
- Provide a driving record for review and approval.
- Communicate effectively in English with customers and coworkers.
- Have a neat appearance and a good attitude.
- Attend scheduled shifts despite inclement weather.
- Undergo a criminal records check.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers.
- Park customers’ vehicles and return to the station to assist the next patron.
- Represent the establishment where valet services are provided.
- Retrieve vehicles by running between the parking area and attendant station.
- Assist customers with items such as wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, baggage, and gifts.
