About The Position

The Westin Tempe is hiring a part-time overnight Valet-Parking Attendant to join its front drive and arrival team. The attendant provides friendly, courteous, timely, and professional service to hotel guests and visitors, helping create a high level of guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include safely parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting guests with luggage during check-in and check-out, and helping check luggage as needed. The role requires overnight availability, including weekends and holidays, and a flexible schedule with willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.

The attendant is expected to maintain a professional appearance and manner, communicate effectively with guests and coworkers, provide information about hotel services and local activities, and contribute as a team player. Work takes place outdoors in varying weather, including high heat, and involves standing, walking, sitting, running short distances, and handling luggage and other packages. Associates are expected to follow resort standards for service, work habits, safety, and security. Other job-related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate, read, and comprehend written materials, and write in English; additional languages are valuable.
• Current, valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle report covering three years, with annual renewals; maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to drive vans, limousines, and automobiles, and knowledge of basic vehicle functions.
• Knowledge of state driving laws.
• Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks and write names and numbers on claim checks and rooming lists.
• Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload luggage and packages up to 100 pounds, with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including periods of high heat, and to run short distances to retrieve vehicles.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit while continuously performing essential job functions, and to bend, stoop, kneel, and walk as required.
• Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, ability to learn in an ever-changing work environment, multitasking skills, and telephone etiquette.
• Self-starting personality, even disposition, professional appearance and manner, and ability to communicate well with guests.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to drive manual-transmission vehicles preferred.
• Additional language skills are valuable.

Responsibilities

• Safely park and retrieve guest and visitor vehicles.
