Vacuum Excavation Technician (Non-CDL)
About The Position
RECONN is seeking problem solvers who take pride in public safety and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment to join their team. This Vacuum Excavation Technician opportunity focuses on exposing utilities for design and excavation purposes. Vacuum Excavation Technicians are responsible for traveling to an assigned work site to perform vacuum excavation, also known as hydro excavation, potholing, keyholing, and air vac. This involves soil extraction through vacuum when using pressurized water or air for breaking ground. This position requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and using a company-provided laptop to document the project. You will perform various vacuum excavation activities near utilities, including core drilling, shoveling, backfilling, and construction labor. These are daytime, full-time positions, and some overtime may be required. Training will be provided, and no industry experience is necessary.
Requirements
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency with technology.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
- Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous vacuum excavation experience preferred.
- Previous road machine operator or hydro-vac experience preferred.
- Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
