About The Position

RECONN is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Vacuum Excavation Technicians in the North Royalton and Medina, OH area. These are full-time, daytime positions with potential overtime. Training will be provided, and no prior industry experience is necessary. Vacuum Excavation team members travel to assigned work sites to perform vacuum excavation, also known as hydro-excavation, potholing, keyholing, and air-vac. This process involves soil extraction using vacuum with pressurized water or air for breaking ground. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and using a company-provided laptop for project documentation. Responsibilities include core drilling, shoveling, backfilling, and general construction labor near utilities.

Requirements

Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
Position requires an A or B CDL.
Must currently possess or have the ability to possess a DOT medical card.
Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
Computer proficiency.
Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Nice To Haves

Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
Utility and/or construction experience preferred.
Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Travel to assigned work sites to perform vacuum excavation (hydro-excavation, potholing, keyholing, air-vac).
