About The Position

The Vaccines National Accounts, Organized & Retail Customer, Policy Lead is a senior People Leader within the Vaccines Field Medical (VFM) organization and reports directly to the Vice President, Vaccines Field Medical. This role provides enterprise-level strategic direction, executional leadership, and people leadership for field medical engagement across national accounts, organized customers, retail channels, and related enterprise initiatives supporting inline and portfolio launch needs, with additional oversight of policy-related medical engagement. The role leads a multi-layered Field Medical organization and is a key member of the Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team. Operating within a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment, the role partners closely with the Vaccines Portfolio Lead, Strategy and Execution Leads (SELs), Market Access, Commercial, Government Affairs, and other enterprise stakeholders to ensure aligned, high-impact, and compliant medical engagement across complex customer systems, with policy considerations integrated where appropriate. As a senior People Leader and senior medical authority for Vaccines customer channels, this role has end-to-end accountability for organizational performance, capability development, strategic direction, and execution outcomes across its scope. The role exercises broad decision-making authority and plays a critical role in shaping enterprise field medical strategy, launch preparedness, advocacy and customer engagement strategy, and cross-functional execution for the U.S. Vaccines portfolio, including medical policy engagement responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Prior medical, clinical, or field medical leadership experience required.
  • Medical Affairs and/or Field Medical experience with demonstrated senior-level people leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, high‑complexity, and evolving enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with enterprise mindset, inclusive leadership practices, and accountability for developing high-performing leaders and teams in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Proven experience leading leaders and managing complex, multi-layered organizations.
  • Demonstrated success operating in highly matrixed, enterprise environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, executional discipline, and enterprise decision-making capability.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prior People Management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior people leadership to Senior Director Medical Leads and other Field Medical leaders and colleagues supporting national accounts, organized customers, retail channels, policy engagement, advocacy activities, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead and develop people leaders and direct reports, ensuring strong leadership effectiveness, enterprise thinking, and executional excellence across a complex and evolving organization.
  • Set clear strategic direction, priorities, and performance expectations to ensure consistent, high-quality, and compliant scientific engagement across customer channels.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and colleagues to strengthen strategic leadership capability, customer engagement expertise, and enterprise execution skills.
  • Own onboarding, enablement, and development planning for Field Medical leaders and colleagues to ensure rapid readiness, consistency, and sustained performance across national accounts, organized customer, retail, policy, advocacy, and launch responsibilities.
  • Foster a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement across a geographically dispersed and highly matrixed organization.
  • Own organizational design, role clarity, and capability building to ensure readiness for current and future national account, retail, organized customer, policy, advocacy, and launch engagement needs.
  • Accountable for succession planning, leadership readiness, and talent pipeline development to support long-term organizational health and continuity across Senior Director and extended leadership roles.
  • Partner closely with People Experience and Vaccines Field Medical leadership on workforce planning, performance outcomes, talent decisions, and leadership development strategies.
  • Serve as the enterprise medical strategy owner and final medical accountability for field medical engagement across national accounts, policy-related activities, organized customers, retail channels, advocacy priorities, and enterprise launch initiatives.
  • Define and execute national medical strategies that support access, reimbursement, policy, advocacy, and launch success across the Vaccines portfolio.
  • Provide enterprise Field Medical leadership for portfolio launch preparedness, ensuring alignment with launch timelines, access milestones, and enterprise readiness priorities.
  • Partner closely with Strategy and Execution Leads (SELs), the Vaccines Portfolio Lead, and the Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team to translate portfolio and launch strategy into scalable, compliant field execution.
  • Ensure a clear, consistent, and credible medical narrative across payer, policy, organized customer, retail, advocacy, and launch engagements.
  • Anticipate and address customer-specific access dynamics, policy considerations, advocacy environments, and engagement complexities across channels.
  • Contribute to annual operating plan development, establishing priorities, sequencing initiatives, and aligning resources to enterprise and portfolio objectives.
  • Provide accountability for resource planning, deployment, and prioritization to support enterprise medical strategies, advocacy priorities, and launch readiness.
  • Identify budget and project specific needs to foster asset specific project needs in coordination with the Asset/Brand Medical Affairs team.
  • Oversight of direct report delivery of scientifically sound medical information, tailored to national accounts/organized customer/retail channel regarding Pfizer’s vaccines and the diseases they prevent.
  • Identification of content/needs to support delivery of pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, project, non-interventional studies, and collaborations at scale to foster immunization practices.
  • Oversight on compliance execution on mutually beneficial external medical stakeholder-specific projects, collaborations, strategic medical partnerships, and non-interventional studies aligned to the vaccine specific business need.
  • Serve as the senior Vaccines Field Medical leader and enterprise medical authority for national accounts, policy, organized customer, retail, advocacy, and launch engagement, representing the organization in enterprise and cross-functional forums.
  • Partner closely with Market Access, Commercial, Policy, Government Affairs, and other enterprise teams to support coordinated and compliant engagement.
  • Provide senior medical leadership for medical advocacy strategy through credible scientific exchange, executive partnership, and insight generation.
  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with Payer Account Medical Leads (PAMLs), policy and advocacy partners, Field Medical Outcomes (FMO) organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong HQ-to-field connectivity, enabling bidirectional communication of strategy, insights, execution feedback, and emerging risks across all customer channels.
  • Align enterprise initiatives impacting national accounts, organized customers, and retail channels, ensuring field medical activities are integrated, scalable, and compliant.
  • Define Medical Analytics and Medical Engagement and Impact (MEI) reporting requirements in partnership with Field Medical leadership.
  • Ensure field medical activities, insights, and outcomes are documented, measured, and reflected in enterprise analytics.
  • Accountable for synthesizing medical insights across national accounts, organized customers, and retail channels to inform Vaccines Medical strategy, portfolio planning, enterprise decision-making, and prioritization.
  • Leverage data to inform leadership decision-making, performance optimization, strategic prioritization, coaching, and enterprise impact assessment.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to enhance medical impact, advocacy effectiveness, customer engagement, and launch outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to medical governance, legal, and compliance requirements across all engagement types and customer channels.
  • Reinforce consistent application of Pfizer SOPs, Field Medical guidance, and CRM business rules.
  • Promote high-quality documentation, insight capture, and data integrity across the organization.
  • Own enterprise-level risk identification, escalation, and mitigation related to field medical engagement across national accounts, organized customers, retail channels, policy environments, advocacy activities, and launches.
  • Define and oversee cross-channel coverage and continuity models to ensure scalable support, enterprise prioritization, and seamless engagement during launches, transitions, or capacity constraints.
  • Ensure field medical readiness for enterprise priorities, portfolio launches, and inspection preparedness.
