About The Position

This short-term contract role involves applying VA enrollment and eligibility expertise to review sample VA health care questions and evaluate AI-generated answers. The specialist will help ensure questions reflect what veterans and their families genuinely ask, and that answers are accurate, useful, and current. No AI experience is required; VA domain knowledge is the priority. Work is remote, asynchronous, and requires a commitment of 20–30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Former VA enrollment, eligibility, or care coordination experience, or experience as a VA social worker.
• At least 1 year of experience working on VA health care enrollment, eligibility determination, or care coordination.
• Working knowledge of VA priority groups, income and means testing, and community care.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Able to start quickly and commit 20–30 hours per week.
• Clear, precise writing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with veteran outreach and helping veterans apply for health care.
• Experience creating guides, checklists, or training materials.
• Experience helping diverse veterans and families, including rural and non-English-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Review sample VA health care questions and flag those that do not sound like questions real veterans or family members would ask.
• Write rubrics defining correct and complete answers about VA health care eligibility, enrollment, priority groups, income and means testing, care coordination, community care (including the MISSION Act), and access to care.
• Evaluate AI-generated answers against the rubrics and flag errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
• Provide clear written feedback to the project team while working asynchronously.
