About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative UX Researcher to join a client’s product team in New York City. The role is suited to a practitioner who excels in iterative, fast-paced environments and has experience in usability, concept testing, and prototype evaluation. The researcher will help shape the user experience by conducting frequent research sessions, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to the product team. This is an in-office position based in NYC, with a requirement to work from the office at least three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday. The researcher will execute multiple phases of user research, from writing research plans and developing participant screeners to moderating sessions and writing detailed reports. They will work closely with stakeholders to integrate findings into design and engineering workflows. The target compensation is $45–$70 per hour. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, relevant work experience, and location-based requirements.

Requirements

4–7 years of industry experience in User Research, specifically in a technology or product environment; academic experience alone is not sufficient.
Solid understanding of human-computer interaction, experimental design, and qualitative data analysis.
Proven ability to run rapid-cycle usability studies and test early product builds.
Skill in generating research plans and defining user experience metrics.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly to cross-functional partners.
Ability to manage a schedule and multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Active collaboration with stakeholders to refine research questions and discuss project impact.
At least a BA degree, with significant relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

MA/MS or PhD in HCI, Psychology, Human Factors, or a highly related field.
