About The Position

Under the general direction of the Logistics Supervisor or Delegate, the incumbent will be responsible to perform general maintenance of equipment, building and facilities as well as shipping and receiving of materials and providing fleet support. The Utility person/Storekeeper must ensure all work assigned is performed efficiently and must be capable of identifying workplace hazards and be able to utilize all reasonable barriers to ensure safe work performance.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education (or equivalent) in related field
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of all aspects of mechanical equipment and general building maintenance
  • Prior experience in shipping/receiving or inventory management
  • Ability to hold and maintain a valid Ontario “G” license with a clean driving abstract
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to build successful working relationships and liaise with contractors and other internal and external parties
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • "DZ" Driver's license is an asset
  • Certification for the safe operation of a forklift is an asset
  • previous experience working with SAP would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assess inventory stock levels and complete order fulfillment
  • Ship, receive and track the delivery of materials and equipment and complete shipping documents as required
  • Track reel movement, transformer movement, and returnable materials.
  • General storehouse duties including but not limited to salvaging, scrapping, cleaning, etc.
  • Maintain an organized stock room
  • Emergency equipment checks/tests
  • Environmental clean-ups as required
  • Transportation, storage and proper handling of waste and recyclable materials
  • Providing upkeep, general maintenance and repairs to areas such as yards and landscapes, walkways and exterior buildings.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs on tools, equipment and facilities as needed
  • Ship and receive tools and equipment for inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, calibration and recertification as required.
  • Completion of all applicable paperwork and/or inventory management system (SAP) requirements for disbursed, received, inspected out of service and/or retired equipment, tools or material.
  • Assist coordinating facility, tool and equipment maintenance inspection and repairs services with third party contractors
  • Additional duties as assigned
