About The Position

The Utility plays a key role in delivering Sonesta's mission of providing exceptional service to guests and colleagues. The role maintains cleanliness and sanitation across kitchen and dishwashing areas, operates dishwashing equipment, cleans and organizes kitchenware and equipment, removes trash, and assists with basic food preparation and special cleaning projects as needed. The position requires flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays, and variable shifts, including days, nights, and overnights.

• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual tasks in hot, humid environments.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in dishwashing or janitorial roles.
• Familiarity with sanitation procedures and chemical handling.
• Sanitation certification and/or knowledge of a second language.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Pre-wash items, load and unload machines, and inspect wares for cleanliness.
• Hand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfaces.
• Restock cleaned wares and keep workstations organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areas.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Clean and maintain the garbage compactor and trash areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to OSHA safety guidelines.
• Support basic food preparation and banquet setup as needed.
• Follow sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
• Promptly report maintenance or safety issues.
• Properly store Ecolab solutions and cleaning supplies in designated storage areas upon delivery.
