About The Position

Carolina Meadows is hiring a part-time Dishwasher for its Skilled Nursing Dining kitchen. The role cleans kitchen and dining equipment and wares used in Independent Living venues and keeps the dish area clean and organized. The kitchen team is described as team-oriented and high-energy, with meaningful work and competitive pay. Starting pay is $17 per hour. Hours may be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., including weekends; morning hours are currently the priority. The position requires a passion for working with and around senior citizens and an upbeat attitude.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively to fulfill position responsibilities.
Ability to work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, and communicate effectively with coworkers.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds.
High school diploma or GED.
Passion for working with and around senior citizens and an upbeat attitude.

Nice To Haves

Previous food preparation experience is preferred but not required.
Previous experience working in a restaurant, catering business, or hotel kitchen is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Set up, load, operate, and unload the dish machine.
Monitor dish-machine water temperature to ensure a sanitary wash cycle.
Scrub pots and pans.
Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies according to standards.
Store clean utensils, dishes, and glassware in their proper places.
Stock and maintain supplies and equipment.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ensure dishes are available for the next meal.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen; keep floors clean and dry.
Interact with staff and team members.
Assist wait staff with serving and bringing dishes into the kitchen when necessary.
Perform other duties as requested by the Kitchen Manager or Chefs.
