About The Position

Professional, supervisory, administrative and technical work serving as the Second in Command of the Sewerage and Water Board's Networks Department. Work includes planning, assigning and reviewing the work of the Networks Zone Managers and related engineering support functions. Work includes establishing and monitoring management controls for assigned operational areas and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to Networks operations where applicable; and related work as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in the fields of engineering, engineering technology, construction management or related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience involving project management, engineering, utility maintenance or related work.
  • At least two (2) years must have included supervisory responsibilities.
  • Permanent status with the Sewerage and Water Board and two (2) years of experience at a pay grade equal to or higher than 88 (for promotional applicants).
  • Experience related to the operation and maintenance of sewer, water, and drainage infrastructure (for promotional applicants).
  • Must provide original documents of qualifying credentials prior to start date.
  • Minimum age of 18 years for certain types of work.
  • Good moral character.
  • Must have a current driver's license on person for identification during examination phases, or other form of picture identification.
  • High School Diploma or GED must be issued by a state Department of Education or recognized institution.
  • College diplomas from foreign countries accepted if a statement of educational equivalency is submitted from an accepted evaluation service.
  • Experience credit will be granted for related provisional appointments (internal applicants).
  • Professional administrative experience is defined as experience gained in a position that required a Bachelor's Degree upon entrance.
