Networks Maintenance Technician II (Class Code 3302)

About The Position

This is the second-level position in the Networks multi-skilled workforce. Networks Maintenance Technician II work activities may include any combination of the following tasks appropriate for water distribution, wastewater collection preventive and reactive maintenance including minor maintenance and location of buried/covered meters; and related work as required.

Requirements

  • Eighteen (18) months of maintenance and/or construction experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED OR an additional 18 months of full-time experience in maintenance and/or construction.
  • Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board and one (1) year of experience as a Networks Maintenance Technician I (for promotional applicants).
  • Successful completion of the following training courses: Reading Comprehension (COMM 100), Business Math (COMP 410) OR Basic Math for Utilities Workers (COMP 400), Effective People Skills (PDVP 930).
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Minimum age of 18 years for work involving hard physical labor, hazardous machinery, chemicals, or other processes prohibited by the Louisiana State Child Labor Law.
  • Good moral character.
  • Must be able to provide original documents of qualifying credentials prior to start date.
  • Must consent to E-Verify for employment eligibility confirmation.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive and reactive maintenance for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Minor maintenance tasks.
  • Location of buried/covered meters.
