Utility Porter - Stewards - (Paris LV)
About The Position
The Utility Porter is responsible for removing trash from kitchen areas, performing heavy and high-area cleaning, and assisting other stewarding employees as time permits. The role helps maintain food preparation areas and assigned kitchen spaces according to county health department and hotel standards. Duties include taking garbage, trash, and recyclables to disposal sites; daily power washing of the kitchen loading and receiving dock; power washing outdoor equipment; sweeping and mopping kitchen floors; obtaining and organizing maintenance supplies; and reporting needed kitchen repairs. The employee must follow safety precautions and maintain a neat appearance and the provided uniform. A Nevada Health Card is required.
Requirements
- At least 6 months to 1 year of work-related experience.
- Neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to repeatedly lift approximately 30–35 pounds.
- Ability to repeatedly perform reaching, stooping, stretching, crouching, and twisting motions.
- Nevada Health Card.
Responsibilities
- Follow all applicable safety precautions.
- Remove kitchen trash and dispose of it properly.
- Maintain appropriate grooming and wear the provided uniform.
- Notify department management of needed repairs in the kitchen area.
- Complete general cleaning tasks requiring ladder access.
- Maintain assigned kitchen areas according to county health department and hotel standards.
- Maintain food service supplies according to county health department and hotel standards.
- Take garbage, trash, and recyclables from kitchen areas to disposal sites.
- Power wash the kitchen loading and receiving dock daily.
- Power wash equipment outdoors.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
- Assist other stewarding employees with kitchen maintenance as time permits.
- Obtain kitchen maintenance supplies from storage.
- Assist with organizing kitchen maintenance supply storage areas.
- Perform additional related duties as requested by department management.
