About The Position
Applewood Village, a Fellowship Life premiere community, a mission-based not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, is seeking a reliable and team-oriented Utility Person to support our Dining Services department. The Utility Person performs essential kitchen support duties including dishwashing, cleaning, floor care, and food cart delivery. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient dining environment for our residents and staff. All duties are performed in compliance with federal and state regulations and facility policies.
Requirements
- No formal education required
- No prior experience necessary – on-the-job training provided
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers and sanitizing solutions
- Clean kitchen floors, work surfaces, and equipment
- Deliver food carts to resident floors
- Receive and properly store food, supplies, and equipment
- Take and record temperatures of refrigerated and frozen items
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow infection control and safety procedures
- Interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers
- Attend required meetings and in‑service training
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold resident rights
- Assist with training new team members as assigned
