About The Position

Gehl Foods is hiring a full-time Utility Operator for the first shift, scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The position supports cross-functional production teams by providing coverage across production lines and processes, helping set up and operate lines, organizing rework, training team members, and maintaining accurate production documentation. The operator also troubleshoots production issues and safely operates a forklift to supply the assigned work area. Pay starts at $20 per hour and varies based on experience.

Requirements

• Three years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment, and products.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret, communicate, and execute plans or instructions in a time-sensitive manner with limited direction and resources.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for more than eight hours, and lift up to 55 pounds.
• Team-player mindset and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience in food, process, high-speed packaging, or Form-Fill-Seal industries.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes.
• Make proper hook-ups and perform line setup activities for starting and operating lines.
• Organize and execute rework.
• Ensure line communication boards are filled out.
• Train new team members on line operation, including equipment and control system operation, documentation, and sampling requirements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and communicate them to the Supervisor.
• Safely operate a forklift to keep the assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials.
• Audit line staff paperwork to ensure it is completed accurately and in real time.
