The Utility Officer works on a full-time basis across multiple security posts and must be available for all three shifts, with the ability to work on short notice to cover call-offs. Schedules are generally made one or two weeks in advance, though last-minute coverage needs may arise. The role has no supervisory responsibilities and is subject to supervision from Branch/Account Managers, Post Supervisors, and Field Supervisors. A resume must be attached for an application to advance; candidates may also use the application text box to provide work history and contact information. The officer performs security patrols and inspections at assigned facilities, monitors for hazards and suspicious activity, controls access and traffic, responds to alarms and emergencies, and reports incidents to supervisors. Duties may vary, and other tasks may be assigned by the Operations Manager or Branch General Manager. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination. Depending on the assignment, candidates may need a state security officer license, weapons-use certification and state armed license, a valid driver's license for driving positions, and CPR/AED/First Aid certification. The work involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and communicating; frequent handling or feeling with the hands; and occasional reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and distinguishing basic colors.
