About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is recruiting a Utility I to join its team of manufacturing professionals at the Broadway facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The role involves inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers while working in a team atmosphere and taking responsibility for an individual station. The primary role is Packer, with backup QA Lineperson duties and flexibility to train and rotate through other positions as needed.

Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, squat, and stand during work shifts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at speeds set by machines.
Ability to communicate and understand basic English commands and supervisor instructions.
Ability to read and match item codes.
Strong attention to detail and a basic understanding of quality and food safety standards.
Flexibility to rotate through different positions as needed.

Responsibilities

Inspect and pack products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers.
Train and rotate through various positions as needed, including Packer and backup QA Lineperson.
Complete quality and food safety tasks for the assigned position.
Perform basic sanitation duties weekly or as needed.
Set up mats and cartons for packers before production begins.
Prepare the packing area for packaging different products.
Provide coverage for breaks and lunches as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
