About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is hiring a Utility I to join its manufacturing team at the Broadway facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania. The role involves inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers while working as part of a team and taking responsibility for an assigned station. The Utility I must be flexible and rotate among positions as needed, including Packer (the primary role), back-up QA, and Lineperson. The role also includes completing quality and food safety tasks, performing basic sanitation, preparing mats, cartons, and packing areas for production, and providing break and lunch coverage. Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, and stand during work shifts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment at speeds set by machines.
Ability to communicate and understand basic English commands and supervisor instructions.
Ability to read and match item codes.
Strong attention to detail and a basic understanding of quality and food safety standards.
Flexibility to rotate through different positions as needed.

Responsibilities

Be flexible with training and rotate through positions and their responsibilities as needed.
Pack products as the primary role; provide back-up QA and Lineperson coverage as needed.
Complete quality and food safety tasks for the assigned position.
Perform basic sanitation duties weekly or as needed.
Set up mats and cartons for packers before production begins.
Prepare the packing area for packaging different products.
Provide coverage for breaks and lunches as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
