About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes keeping indoor and outdoor club areas clean, gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot, and ensuring carts at the club entrance are clean, stocked, and in working order. The position requires full open availability and regular, predictable, full attendance. The Utility Clerk may also perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; individuals under 18 may perform parking lot cart functions.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Ensure carts are well-stocked at the club entrance, clean and in working order; remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize cleaning and maintenance responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers in accordance with established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and complete other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Complete required training and certification processes and maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
