USPS Delivery Contractor - Stowe, VT
About The Position
AEXP Express Corporation is seeking a mail delivery driver/mail carrier for a United States Postal Service mail route in Stowe, Vermont. The route starts on November 7, 2026. The contractor provides their own qualifying vehicle and delivers mail and packages along an assigned 20-mile route, traveling approximately 40 miles per day. The position pays $240 per day as a 1099 contractor, with payment made monthly. The schedule is full-time, six days per week, Monday through Saturday, except federal holidays. Work is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; the estimated workday is 8 to 8.5 hours or less.
Requirements
- Have legal documentation to work in the United States.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Be able to work and drive safely in all types of weather conditions.
- Reside in Stowe, Vermont, or a neighboring town or city.
- Provide a qualifying minivan or cargo van with at least 120 cubic feet of cargo capacity that is less than five years old.
- Carry minimum liability insurance.
- Provide your own vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Former USPS employees or contractors are highly recommended.
- A minivan or cargo van with 120 cubic feet of cargo space and no center console is recommended for passenger-side mailbox delivery; the route may be difficult without this setup but is still possible.
- Availability to start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Sort mail and packages into delivery sequence for active mailboxes.
- Load mail and parcels into the delivery vehicle in delivery sequence.
- Deliver mail and packages to customer boxes along an assigned line of travel.
- Dismount when required to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items.
- Perform other required administrative duties.
