The primary role of the Used Car Sales Manager is to operationally manage and drive the success of the used car department through developing sales consultants, working with third party vendors and achieving monthly sales quotas. This role involves working directly with employees and customers to develop relationships and help bridge disconnects in the sales process. The manager will build rapport with customers to establish a referral base, provide training and support to the sales staff, and assist in closing sales. Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of the sales department and inventory lot, purchasing vehicles from auction and off-lease returns, working with lot attendants to ensure proper vehicle tagging and positioning, conducting trade appraisals, and managing vehicle information in the management system. The role also requires adherence to inventory turn policy guidelines, partnering with wholesale vendors, and collaborating with third-party vendors and the service department for vehicle preparation. Additionally, the manager will prepare and administer annual forecasts and budgets, monitor factory-sponsored programs, and assist the New Car Sales Manager when needed.
