The primary role of the Used Car Sales Manager is to operationally manage and drive the success of the used car department through developing sales consultants, working with third party vendors and achieving monthly sales quotas. This role involves working directly with employees and customers to develop relationships, build rapport, and assist in closing sales. The manager will oversee all aspects of the sales department and inventory lot, including purchasing vehicles, managing lot attendants, conducting trade appraisals, and maintaining inventory turn policy guidelines. A key responsibility is partnering with third-party vendors and the service department to ensure used vehicles are ready for lot inventory. The role also includes preparing and administering annual forecasts and budgets, monitoring factory programs, and assisting the New Car Sales Manager when needed.
