About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Urologist in Portsmouth, OH. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient care, with a clinical and call coverage type. The coverage period is from November 02, 2026, ongoing. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, 8a-4:30p, with a TBD call schedule. The Urologist will be required to supervise APPs and will be responsible for managing an average daily volume of 15-20 patients. Admissions are required, and rounding on assigned patients is part of the role. The department has 2 beds and is supported by 2 NPs, 3 Medical Office Assistants, 6 clinical staff, 1 surgery scheduler, and 1 UDS technician. The EMR system is MediTech. Office equipment includes a UDS machine, cystoscopes (rigid and flexible), an ultrasound machine with vaginal/rectal probe, and a Trophon. Malpractice insurance is provided by the Vendor.
Requirements
- BC in Urology
- Licensed in OH or IMLC
- BLS
- ACLS
- Hospital Privileges Required

Responsibilities
- Provide urology consultations and follow-up care in outpatient clinic setting.
- Perform office-based procedures including vasectomy, prostate biopsies, cystoscopy with stent removal, prostate ultrasounds.
- Perform hospital-based surgical procedures such as TURP, ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy, etc.
- Collaborate with NP and clinical staff to manage patient volume of 15-20 patients per day.
- Maintain accurate documentation in MediTech EMR.
- Supervise APPs.
- Round on assigned patients.
