About The Position

Unified Women’s Healthcare’s affiliated practice, Urgent Care Associates of Erie, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide walk-in urgent care for less-serious, non-life-threatening medical issues that should be treated within 24 hours. The practice is located at 2861 West 26th Street. The position handles approximately 20–40 patients per day and works twelve 12-hour shifts per month. The provider works closely with two physicians as part of a fully licensed medical team and support staff. Unified Women’s Healthcare is affiliated with a national physician-owned Ob-Gyn practice network with more than 900 affiliated practices and 2,500 providers in 17 states and Washington, DC. Requirements

National Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant certification, or ability to obtain it.
Unrestricted, active licensure in the state, or ability to obtain it.
Current unrestricted DEA license, or ability to obtain it.
CPR, BLS, and NALS certification, or ability to obtain them.
Proficiency in assessment and development of treatment plans.
Ability to communicate with patients, team members, and management staff.

Nice To Haves

One year of full-time experience in urgent care or an emergency room is preferred; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

Perform patient examinations, screenings, and treatments, and record patient health histories.
Prescribe medications and therapies.
Order or perform diagnostic testing and procedures, and interpret results.
Perform procedures including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and foreign body removal.
Work closely with two physicians to provide patient care.
Make care decisions based on best medical practices without direct physician supervision or guidance.
