About The Position

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Manager to lead our newly established Urgent Care Clinic working a swing shift schedule of 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM. This role is for individuals who thrive in a dynamic clinical environment and are committed to delivering exceptional care to pets and the people who love them, helping shape the future of compassionate veterinary medicine in our community. The Urgent Care Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, outstanding client service, and efficient clinic operations while supporting the organization's mission to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them. This role involves working closely with veterinary leadership to develop operational strategies, monitor performance metrics, and implement innovative solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and the overall client experience. As a leader within the clinic, the Urgent Care Manager will recruit, develop, and support a high-performing team while fostering a culture built on collaboration, accountability, compassion, and excellence. This position provides oversight of staffing, scheduling, employee engagement, performance management, and professional development, ensuring team members have the resources and support needed to succeed. The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen and operational expertise, with responsibility for managing clinic budgets, monitoring financial performance, maintaining inventory controls, and ensuring compliance with all applicable veterinary, safety, and regulatory requirements. This individual will also serve as a key representative of the clinic, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, addressing client concerns, and helping drive the continued growth and success of the Arizona Humane Society's veterinary services.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of veterinary clinic manager experience required.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience as an urgent/emergency care technician required.
  • Experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DEA requirements.
  • Strong leadership, financial, customer service, and change management skills.
  • Able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; able to learn DaySmart, Chameleon, and other software programs as necessary.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening to be compliant with DEA requirements for dispensing controlled drugs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Veterinary Practice Management, Animal Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • CVT or CVMP certification preferred.
  • Multi-doctor practice or emergency/urgent care experience preferred.
  • Spanish language helpful.
