About The Position

Mason Preparatory School is an independent Pre K-8th school dedicated to educating the whole child through strong relationships, academic excellence, and an engaging, student-centered learning environment. Mason Preparatory School is seeking a qualified Upper School Math Teacher that can provide primary supervisory and instructional responsibility in the classroom.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • State teacher certification required (i.e. Early Childhood, Elementary, or Middle School)
  • Proficient knowledge of curriculum and effective instructional practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with school constituencies, students, and parents

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality classroom instruction that meets or exceeds South Carolina state standards while maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Plan and deliver interesting and creative, multi-sensory lessons (kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, and visual)
  • Build on effective presentation techniques, provide adequate comprehension checks, re-inforce and re-teach materials as necessary
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Report necessary matters to the Head of School and implement discipline policies with fairness and consistency
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Actively participate in school life, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to maintain current knowledge in areas of expertise and enhance quality of instruction.
  • Comply with all Mason Preparatory School policies and procedures as outlined in faculty, student, and employee handbooks.
