About The Position

Abington Friends School seeks an upper school mathematics teacher. The responsibilities of the position include: Teaching two to four sections of Mathematics. Course offerings range from Algebra I through AP Calculus. We seek as much flexibility as possible. Course assignments will be based on a candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. Engaging in a student-centered approach to teaching; the ideal candidate will have experience with the facilitation of collaborative work in the math classroom. Providing constructive, timely feedback to students and families through grading, maintaining digital records, email communication, and quarterly comment writing. Creating availability outside classroom hours to meet with students for extra help as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a math-related field is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and a desire to explore issues of equity and inclusion, rooted in the school's Quaker values.
