About The Position

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Biology Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching Secondary Education Biology. The candidate should possess a strong background in science education, with a focus on engaging and inspiring students while recognizing God’s design and order in creation. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that helps students develop strong critical thinking skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on Biology
  • Teaching certification and compliance with state requirements for science education.
  • Previous experience teaching middle school science related subjects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to the school's Christian mission and values.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to a dynamic academic environment.
  • Possess a general knowledge of a wide range of scientific principles and studies, including but not limited to Biology, Earth Science, Life Science, Physics, and Chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students through the principles of science and God’s Creation while shaping a Biblical worldview that aligns with evidence-based research.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans, teaching methods, and assessments for middle school science courses, ensuring alignment with academic standards.
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on student performance through various assessment methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
  • Encourage and support students' involvement in science-related extracurricular activities, clubs, and competitions.
  • Manage the annual science project, including a talent show featuring science experiments and a science fair.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through our FACTS portal, providing regular updates on student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about current trends and developments in science education, attending workshops and conferences to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with other science teachers and faculty members to promote a cohesive and integrated educational experience for students.
