About The Position

The Upper School Attendance Coordinator supports all stakeholders by partnering with the Upper School Leadership team to ensure accurate attendance and records. This role requires versatility and openness to innovative instructional practices. It is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Additional opportunities to substitute teach, coach athletic teams, and direct arts productions are available for additional compensation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in data entry, customer service, student services, or project management.
  • Organized & detail oriented.
  • Passionate about working in a school environment.
  • Proficiency in building queries, data entry, Google Suite & Mac/Apple OS.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, enters, and verifies daily attendance data in student information systems (Veracross).
  • Ensures records meet state compliance, attendance policies, and audit requirements.
  • Prepares regular reports on attendance trends, truancy, and absences.
  • Reaches out to parents, students, and faculty regarding excessive absences or imperfect attendance (connection to Collaborative Care Team and Dean of Students and EDSGS).
  • Collects and documents excuse notes, doctor’s notes, and documentation for attendance changes.
  • Produces accurate attendance reports as requested by US Leadership.
  • Reviews, organizes, and ensures early dismissals for school events are accurate and timely.
