About The Position
WSYR-TV Newschannel 9, a Nexstar ABC television affiliate, offers internships for qualified students studying broadcast journalism, video production, and other communication degrees. Interns may work in departments including News, Promotion, Digital Media, Sales, Weather, Sports, Creative Services, and Production. The posting identifies the internships as being at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island. The internships provide educational and work experiences intended to support interns’ academic and career goals. The education is for the express benefit of the intern, who does not replace or displace a Company employee and receives direct, close supervision from an appropriate supervisor. The internship is unpaid, and interns are not entitled to wages, compensation, or benefits. It is related to an educational purpose, and there is no guarantee or expectation of employment with the Company afterward.
Requirements
- Must receive course credit for the internship.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Be flexible in performing a variety of assignments and tasks.
