University Co-Op Student-Protection & Station Standards - 12 Months - Fall 2026
About The Position
Hydro One is the largest electricity transmission and distribution provider in Ontario, serving nearly 1.5 million customers. This 12-month temporary co-op position is for the Stations, Protection, Control and Networks Standards Design group. The role involves assisting Senior Engineering Staff with Standards Design work related to Stations, Protection, Controls and Networks for the Power system, and may require handling Cyber Security sensitive information. This position offers professional development in understanding power system components, SCADA automation, LAN networks, communication skills, and fundamental engineering principles.
Requirements
- Discipline: Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Academic Level: Completed 3rd year
- Must be enrolled in post-secondary level studies and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term, or require a work term to graduate.
- Must submit a Personal Risk Assessment from Metropolitan Toronto Police.
- International students must have a proper work permit and a Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Responsibilities
- Assisting Senior Engineering Staff with Standards Design work related to Stations, Protection, Controls and Networks for the Power system.
- May be required to handle Cyber Security sensitive information.
