About The Position
The Universal Banker is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role aims to foster customer relationships, build loyalty, and help increase sales to individual consumer clients. This is a part-time role at the Uniondale branch, scheduled for 20 hours. The position provides customer service, executes financial transactions, supports sales and service activities, and follows operational controls and applicable legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures. The role also requires sound risk assessment, ethical judgment, compliance, and transparent escalation and reporting of control issues. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Previous retail banking or similar experience required.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic account opening for existing customers.
- Provide service delivery to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues.
- Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Refer opportunities to segment partners where appropriate.
- Create sales opportunities through service transactions and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Support branch sales and service activities by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives.
- Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.
- Assess risk appropriately in business decisions, safeguard the firm's reputation and the assets of Citi and its clients, comply with applicable laws and policies, apply sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
