About The Position

The Universal Banker is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on fostering customer relationships, building loyalty, and helping increase sales to individual consumer clients.

The position supports branch sales and service operations, including customer account assistance, financial transactions, referrals, and participation in promotional activities. It also requires adherence to operational controls and applicable legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to safeguard customer and bank assets.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Previous retail banking or similar experience required.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic account opening for existing customers.
• Provide service to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues.
• Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
• Refer opportunities to segment partners where appropriate.
• Create sales opportunities from service transactions and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
• Support branch sales and service activities by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives.
• Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.
• Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets; comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies; apply sound ethical judgment; and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
