About The Position
The Universal Banker I provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to create an excellent experience for customers and employees. The role identifies customer needs and makes appropriate referrals and recommendations for Bank products and services. The banker performs tasks accurately and efficiently while complying with Bank policies and procedures. The position calls for an outgoing, sales-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and results-driven individual who can work independently and as part of a team, make sound decisions, and apply critical-thinking skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of customer service or cash-handling experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- A smartphone (iOS or Android) capable of supporting security features required by the Bank's IT security guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Process teller transactions, including deposits and loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks, issuing official checks, and potentially providing overrides and approvals.
- Count and balance the cash drawer daily, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Follow BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures and report suspicious activity.
- Maintain integrity and keep Bank business and information confidential.
- Engage customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Assist customers with routine questions and account maintenance requests.
- Progress toward proficiency in processing vault transactions, balancing, and completing other required daily transactions.
- Progress toward proficiency in opening and closing the banking center, including end-of-day processing.
- Become proficient in all required teller-line operational activities.
- Learn the Bank's security system and assist with testing alarms.
- Assist in completing required reports.
- Gain experience, knowledge, and sound decision-making skills to qualify for higher limits and authority.
