About The Position

The Universal Banker I provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to create an excellent experience for customers and employees. The role involves understanding customer needs and recommending appropriate bank products and services, while completing tasks accurately and efficiently in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Successful candidates are outgoing, sales-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and results-driven, and can work independently and as part of a team while exercising sound judgment and critical thinking.

The position processes teller transactions, balances a cash drawer, follows applicable compliance procedures, assists customers with questions and account maintenance, and develops proficiency in additional banking-center and operational duties. Greater experience, knowledge, and sound decision-making may lead to higher transaction limits and authority.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of customer service or cash-handling experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• A smartphone running iOS or Android that can support security features required by the Bank's IT security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Process teller-line transactions, including accepting deposits and loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks, and issuing official checks; transactions may also include providing overrides and approvals.
• Count and balance the cash drawer daily, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Follow BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain the confidentiality of bank business and information.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Assist customers with routine questions and account maintenance requests.
• Develop proficiency in processing vault transactions, including balancing and other required daily transactions.
• Develop proficiency in opening and closing the banking center, including end-of-day processing.
• Develop proficiency in required teller-line operational activities.
• Understand the bank's security system and assist with testing alarms.
• Assist in completing required reports.
