Requirements
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of one year of experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Assisted Living
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards of care, and compliance practices
- Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation
Nice To Haves
- Previous leadership, charge nurse, or management experience
- Experience with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Background in infection prevention and risk management
- Experience mentoring and coaching healthcare staff
- Experience working with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical operations of a Skilled Nursing unit serving up to 30 residents
- Coordinate resident care and ensure communication among residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
- Monitor and respond to acute changes in resident condition
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions
- Help develop and support individualized resident care plans
- Promote resident dignity, rights, independence, and quality of life
- Partner with residents and families to ensure exceptional care experiences
- Serve as a resource for questions, concerns, and care planning discussions
- Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation staff, pharmacy providers, social services, and other healthcare professionals
- Foster strong interdisciplinary teamwork focused on resident outcomes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- Review physician orders, assessments, progress notes, and documentation for accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor infection control reports, pharmacy recommendations, medication-related concerns, and quality metrics
- Support risk management programs and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in audits, investigations, and root cause analyses
- Help maintain survey readiness and compliance standards
- Mentor and support nurses, CNAs, and other healthcare team members
- Assist with orientation, competency evaluations, and ongoing staff education
- Support infection prevention practices, including PPE usage, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement
