Requirements

  • Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Assisted Living
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards of care, and compliance practices
  • Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership, charge nurse, or management experience
  • Experience with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Background in infection prevention and risk management
  • Experience mentoring and coaching healthcare staff
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the clinical operations of a Skilled Nursing unit serving up to 30 residents
  • Coordinate resident care and ensure communication among residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Monitor and respond to acute changes in resident condition
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions
  • Help develop and support individualized resident care plans
  • Promote resident dignity, rights, independence, and quality of life
  • Partner with residents and families to ensure exceptional care experiences
  • Serve as a resource for questions, concerns, and care planning discussions
  • Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation staff, pharmacy providers, social services, and other healthcare professionals
  • Foster strong interdisciplinary teamwork focused on resident outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
  • Review physician orders, assessments, progress notes, and documentation for accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor infection control reports, pharmacy recommendations, medication-related concerns, and quality metrics
  • Support risk management programs and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and root cause analyses
  • Help maintain survey readiness and compliance standards
  • Mentor and support nurses, CNAs, and other healthcare team members
  • Assist with orientation, competency evaluations, and ongoing staff education
  • Support infection prevention practices, including PPE usage, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement
