Unit Assistant I - Springfield - Cox South
About The Position
A Unit Assistant I completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of healthcare staff and communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. During the program, the assistant is pre-assigned to explore different healthcare departments and gain exposure to various career pathways. Upon completing the program, the assistant will interview for selection to potentially advance to a Unit Assistant II role in an area of interest. The program exposes participants to the daily routines of healthcare workers, helps them identify career interests in healthcare, and provides exposure to the academic, technical, and personal skills required in healthcare professions. Participants complete assigned tasks in their assigned departments.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school or high school equivalent program.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Flexibility and ability to accept direction from members of the care team.
- No prior experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Enrolled in a Health Science Program.
