Unit Assistant I - Springfield - Cox South
About The Position
A Unit Assistant I completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of healthcare staff and communicates effectively with members of the care delivery team. During the program, the assistant is pre-assigned to explore different healthcare departments and gain exposure to various career pathways. The program provides exposure to healthcare workers’ daily routines and to the academic, technical, and personal skills needed in healthcare professions, while offering opportunities to identify career interests. Upon completing the program, the Unit Assistant I completes an interview for potential selection to advance to a Unit Assistant II role in an area of interest.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from high school or a high school equivalent program.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients, and families.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Flexibility and ability to accept direction from members of the care team.
- No prior experience required.

- Enrolled in a Health Science Program.
