About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex equipment repairs safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment makes and models, develop skills for a career track in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The position may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade and flexibility as priorities change in a fast-paced environment. The stated hourly wage is $34.65–$36.65, with the agreed rate determined under the collective bargaining agreement for the location.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- Five or more years of mechanic experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
