About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to reduce downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also include large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role may require providing mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location needs.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to three years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
